Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm running in this years London Marathon on April 22nd 2012 in memory of the best dad ever and to try and raise money for Woking Hospice. Dad was due to spend his final days there but unfortunately, the Lung Cancer that he was suffering from took its toll and he passed away in St.Peters, before he could move there.
To say that he's sorely missed is an understatement as he really did have time for everyone, from family to friends. He liked nothing more than to be around the grandchildren, always laughing and just being with them.
He was taken from us back in August 2010, the day before my wedding anniversary. One of the many things he made me promise was to get some fitness back and 'lose the belly'!!
What could I say?! So I said I'd try for the marathon again as this would be a good way to do it. He said that I was too old and had dodgy knees that wouldn't support whats above them!!
April 22nd is for you Dad...miss you.
Please spread the word to visit this page and if possible, donate to this worthy cause. Thanks. Steve
Woking Hospice was opened in December 1996 to provide palliative careand support for patients and their families living in central Surrey.
It takes in excess of £4.6 million to keep the doors of Woking Hospice & Sam Beare Hospice, Weybridge open. Their patients are at the heart of everything they do and everything they seek to achieve and I hope to raise as much as possible for this worthy organisation.
All I ask is for you to donate as much as you want and help Woking Hospice to help others to have care like my dad would have recieved had he of gone there.
