Stephen says: As many of you know, I love cycling. In case there is any concern that this isn't much of a challenge, please be rest assured that I haven't really be out on my bike for the last year and even then it's mostly been cycling to the cake shop! 190km in the July sun up and down the Yorkshire Dales ahead of the Professional Tour de France is definitely a hard slog!
Ally says: Like Stephen, I enjoy cycling and am a regular commuter and recreational rider, My 'training' regime has taken me nowhere near the dizzy heights of a 190km run, and certainly nothing on a par with the route we will face, which will include over 7,500ft of uphill riding. When a professional rider such as Mark Cavendish describes the opening stages of the tour as being a beautiful but very hard start, then it's time to panic! To ease our inevitable pain, we'd be most grateful for any small donation that you can give to what is a very worthwhile cause. Thanks, Ally.
We're supporting AGE UK because none of us are getting any younger - we live in an ageing society where life expectancy is increasing, yet austerity measures mean it is often the oldest in our communities that are hit hardest.
