Story
I am trekking The Great Wall of China along with 11 of my colleagues in April hoping to raise a total of £30,000 for the very under-funded charity Brain Tumour Research.
The Brain Tumour Research charity is often overlooked, receiving less than 1% of national cancer research spending. Therefore it may come as a surprise that in the UK more children and people under 40 die of a brain tumour than any other cancer, with over 16,000 diagnosed every year.
1 member of our team unfortunately got to witness first-hand the devastation a brain tumour can have. Their experience was all the inspiration I needed to put my name forward to be part of this team.
We will be trekking over a period of 5 days, trekking for up to 8 hours a day covering a total distance of over 50km including some of the most challenging sections. The cost of the trip will be met by a combination of the team members and the company, therefore all donations made will go directly to the charity.
It’s not very often I make requests for donations so please be as generous as you can even if it’s only £1.
If you are a UK tax payer please don’t forget to tick “Gift Aid” as this will ensure an additional 20% will go to the charity at no additional expense to you.
