Story
The swim is being supported by and is in the name of, the Ian Pratt MND Foundation and they (plus the Motor Neurone Disease Association, who are also promoting the swim) are using the swim to promote knowledge of Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
I didn't know anything about Motor Neurone Disease till I read about it as part of researching the swim and the charities behind it. It's not fun and it's not a thing you recover from; it's degenerative and it's a thing you live with...for a while.
So, here's the bit where I ask you for some money. It's a cause I think is worthwhile - or I'd not be supporting it myself.
If you feel you can support financially, then I'll be delighted. If you can't, that's totally fine too. Whatever, you can bask in the knowledge that I'll be out there on 17th July, dodging the Royal Navy, Container ships and mad yachtsmen, so I can raise some well-needed funds. The massive ice-cream I intend to eat on the other side in celebration, I'll buy with my own money :)
