Cancer effects 1 in 3 people and when we heard of this event for such a great cause, we realised we had nothing to loose...the challenge ahead is nothing compared to the challenge those with cancer face every day.
In November this year will be taking a 10 day trip to cycle across Taiwan to raise money for Clatterbridge Cancer Research.
We're not the best cyclists so this is going to be a tough journey.
Here's a few of stories of our cycling disasters...
Steph:
The last time I went cycling, I got sunstroke and nearly fell into the Liverpool-Leeds canal when the handle bars came off. Wrigling about with the bike between my legs and the handle bars in my hands, I luckily managed to swevre the canal and cushion my landing ...in a nettle bush!
Ashley:
When I was younger I was getting a ride on the back of a friends bike when my laces got caught up in the wheel. This dragged me off the bike..and yes you guessed it...the laces stayed attached so I was getting dragged along the floor and had to hobble home with bruised and scratched thighs because I had been wearing a skirt! Bad times!
We're sure you can imagine this isn't going to be so easy for us but having lost a total of 6 loved one's between us to cancer, we felt there was no better charity to support than Clatterbridge Cancer Research.
Together, with support from you, we can help raise thousands of pounds of CCR, which recieves no government funding and requires £2million to fund it's research. Every penny counts so please dig deep and help us make a differnce.
So far we've had lots of fun raising for CCR. We've had a Roller Disco, super market bag packs, cake sales and attended Glastonferry Festival.
We have a more more things lined up so keep checking back for updates.
8th August: Morrisons Widnes Bagpack
20th August: Clatterbridge Rocks - Our very own gig at Liverpool's O2 Academy. Headliners Bunny Munro are to be supported by 3 more locals bands...keep checking for updates.
22nd August: Tesco Prescot Bagpack
4th September: Glastonferry Autumn Music Festival
Thanks,
Ashely and Steph
