Story
My name is Stella Weweler, I am 21 years old and I study Land Management and Conservation at the University of Sustainable Development in Eberswalde, Germany.
Starting in January I will be a volunteer worker for the Millennium Elephant Foundation (MEF) in Sri Lanka, supported by the AWF. This project longs to create a harmonic coexistence between locals and elephants.
One way the MEF helps elephants that are treated bad by their owners is by taking them to the MEF area and give them the chance to lead a species-appropriate life.
To improve the living conditions of the elephants at MEF even further an even bigger enclosure is planed. The Atlantic Whale Foundation (AWF) is helping the MEF raise £50,000 that are necessary to build the new enclosure.
When exactly the elephants will be able to move into the new enclosure depends on how fast we are able to raise the needed money. This is where you come into play. Please help us. Even the smallest sum donated contributes to the success of this project.
Thank you for participating.
