Story
This is going to be my first half marathon ever and also my first charity run for that matter. So I am massively excited about it.
Initially, I was planning to run just for myself and the personal challenge. But running for a charity adds so much more to this run.
I have chosen the RSPB because I thought I might need the help of the birds if I won't make it over the finish line. Then I can just blow a whistle or start singing and they will carry me to the end. Cinderella-style. On a more serious note, the RSPB is a great organisation and does fantastically in preserving natural habitats for all sorts of wildlife, not just birds. Their reserves give back some space to nature and also offer a nice retreat for stressed city folk alongside educational offers for how we all can live in close communion with nature. Furthermore, they give nature and environmental protection a strong voice in politics backed by many, many people. I have met some very enthusiastic people who devote all their time and energy to the protection of nature, which was truly inspiring and made me realise that I can do more as well.
Therefore, it would be fantastic if you could support my run and the RSPB with a little donation and a few cheers. If you do, the sun will shine on you for a lifetime and birds might help you with the washing up next time. You never know!
Thank you all!
