Story
Headway surrey enables adults in Surrey to live well with their acquired brain injury and to be independent . Family support is also crucial to their rehabilitation and recovery. To do this Headway Surrey offers a range of services to help with cognition and executive function, eg. memory, information processing, decision making, managing fatigue, communication, emotional and behavioural changes. We provide counselling, helpline, 1:1 sessions, group day centre workshops, art, seated boccia, tai chi, creative writing, discussion groups, online coffee mornings for peer support chatter, monthly Drop In mornings, professional talks and lunch and learn sessions, occasional walks, 6-week Understanding Brain Injury course and 6-week Family and Carers Survival Toolkit Course.
All services enable independence and motivation for people to achieve their own goals and to adapt to their new life with their acquired brain injury. Our aim is to support as many people as we can back into employment, volunteering and meaningful activity so that they can lead a happy and healthy life.
