Story
Fran and I started running together in January 2017 mainly to help Fran prepare for her wedding in July but also to get out of the house and away from the kids ;-). I heard I was doing the 10K whilst on holiday when Fran sent me a message saying 'Not wanting to ruin your hols, but I might have signed us up for the 10K!' And the rest is history. That left us only 5 weeks to train but I'd say we're feeling pretty confident.
And what's more, we're doing it for Cavendish Cancer Care because 'one person every hour in South Yorkshire is diagnosed with cancer. Your support means that Cavendish Care can provide emotional support through counselling and complementary therapies to over 1,500 cancer patients, their families and their children each year. That’s around 30 people they support every single week. Every one of those people were able to pick up the phone and get an appointment within 5 working days enabling them to access a free of charge package of care and support centred around their needs. They support not only cancer patients but also their carers and offer specialist services children affected by cancer themselves or in a parent or sibling. With just enough statutory funding to keep their doors open for about two weeks each year they wouldn’t be here for patients and their families without your generous donations.'
We will be grateful for every single penny you can spare. Running 10K for this charity will be a huge pleasure.
Thank you.
