Story

Going Sober for October ………that’s right SOBER

You heard me for the month of October I will not be drinking booze of any kind…….no crème de menthe not even Advocaat which as we all know is suitable, in snowball form for all children over 11. Anyone can train for a long run or swim, there is nothing can prepare for having to go a whole month without wine. To put this mammoth undertaking in context I thought I would share with you some events that happened in the year I last went a month without booze.

The Berlin Wall came down

The world Wide Web was invented

The first Simpsons was aired

The first GPS satellite went into orbit

The Nintendo Gameboy was released

Top movie of the year was Batman (not Christian Bale)

Milli Vanilli were found to be miming !!!!

3 Feet High and Rising and Bleach were released

Everyone was excellent to each other

The Tienanmen Square Massacre happened

And if you didn’t work it out yet Taylor Swift was born

Why am I doing this ? well because each day I meet fantastic inspiring people who are remaining positive and thinking of others at what is one of the most difficult times in their lives. Nothing I can say puts into words better than their own stories do, why Cavendish is so vital. Please take a minute to read a story from the Cavendish website here  http://cavcare.org.uk/news/stories Everything that Cavendish Cancer Care provides is recommended by the NHS National Institute for Clinical Excellence, It just isn’t funded by them. Put simply Cavendish wouldn’t be here without the generosity of people like you. Just the price of a pint would be appreciated
