Story

Last year I did 9 events with the Barcelona Ironman the Sydney triathlon among others and alongside a few cycle events! Together we raised over £9,000!

This year, as you may have guessed, I'm undertaking another whole host of events, including:

Colon Challenge 2016 (1-4th June): I am cycling with a group of people who are raising money for St Mark's hospital and cycling around England in the shape of a colon! This is about 80 miles a day for 4 days, all in a good cause.

Blenheim Triathlon (5th June): I have done this event for the past 12 years and love it! It is a sprint distance triathlon: 750 m swim, 20 km cycle and 5km run.

London to Brighton cycle (19th June): I am joined by several other riders in support of St Mark's for this event. We will be riding the famous 54 mile route and aim to represent St Mark's with our good cheer and high spirits.

Prudential 100 Cycle (30th - 31st July): It will be great to take part in this 100 mile ride from London to Surrey amidst a sea of around 95,000 riders. It's one of the most recognised cycling event and it's a great thrill to be taking part for St Mark's!

Ironman 70.3 Austria (28th August): this year I am taking it easier and doing a half Ironman. Still is isn't a walk in the park! I did my first half Ironman in Aix-en-Provence in 2012 and then did 2 full ones in 2014 and 2015 in Zurich then Barcelona. The distances are still challenging at 1.9 km swim, 90 km cycle and a half marathon. It will take me around 6-7h. Wish me luck!

Swimming the English Channel relay (9th - 15th September):
I will be taking on the challenge of swimming the English Channel in a team of 4 which includes Helen Hill, who is a keen fundraiser for St. Mark's and inspiration. This one is going to be tough, each of us swimming for an hour then switching, over a 20 hour + period. I can tell you now that I am feeling more than a little intimidated by this one!

Catalonia 40tude Endurance Cycle (5th - 8th October): The group 40tude are also fundraising for St Mark's and this is their 5th year of fundraising. They have been successfully raised over £500,000 since 2011 for a new surgical technique to treat patients with colon cancer. The cyclists on this event are all committed to fundraising and very talented in their careers and abilities. It is an honour to ride with them.

Ok, so that is enough ...
