Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

It is now 3 years since my last sponsored challenge to walk 300 miles from coast to coast across Scotland and England accompanied by my dog Rufus in aid of Breast Cancer Care. For those who do not know, my partner Karen has suffered with incurable secondary cancer for 10 years now, and recently commenced chemotherapy treatment again after the spread of the disease. Despite suffering significantly, Karen continues to face life with a smile on her face.

I have decided that it is time to embark on yet another challenge to celebrate Karen's fighting spirit and to let the world know how much she means to me.

My next challenge is an additional sick twist on the traditional UK 3 peaks challenge, to make it even more difficult and worthy of your support I hope. unfortunately, this means my faithful companion Rufus will not be able to accompany me, as it would be too much even for him!

In June 2013 I propose to combine the 3 UK highest peaks in 24 hours challenge together with the 3 highest Yorkshire Dales peaks in 12 hours to create a 6 highest peaks in 36 hour challenge! This challenge will entail ascents of 18,242 feet, 50 miles in distance walked and 629 miles of driving all in 36 hours. The details are as follows:

  • 6pm Start Ben Nevis - Highest Mountain in Scotland at 4,409 ft and 10 miles trekking
