Story
Hello you. Thanks for visiting my page.
Last year I took part in Football to Amsterdam, a 150 mile cycle ride form Barnsley to Amsterdam. It was amazing. With the help from family, friends, Notts FA and Notts County I raised £2222 and met some amazing people and helped raise awareness of the nasty disease that is prostate cancer.
This year I needed to up my game so as well as Football To Amsterdam My target is by 1st October to have travelled 2018 miles using my feet. My trainers are being firmly tied on as I look to get off the sofa and move myself an average of 7.5 miles every day in order to hit my deadline. This is around 15 000 steps a day.
So in order to motivate me I'm entering lots of events which I'm planning to wear the "Man of Men" shirt and raise more awareness for the cause.
One event a month is my aim and so far I have a few places booked in with more to follow.
February - Keyworth Turkey Trot
April 8th - Peak District Spring Series
June - Football To Amsterdam
September - Equinox 24
October - Royal Parks Half Marathon
As far as F2A goes our small group of three has evolved into 15 members all committed and ready to arm themselves with a cycle bell to tackle the two day ride in June. We go by the name of The Ding Ding's (hence the bell).
This is looking like an epic ride once more as our whole group of 400 look to increase last year's record raising amount of £600 000 whilst having a beer or two on the way, well on day two perhaps.
I'm really concerned that having done this ride before I'll take the training for granted and not quite be up to speed. Also that when I'm pedalling I'm not stepping towards my target (crying emoji face).
So all its going to be a busy year and I'm looking for donations, shirt sponsors and anyone to join me in fundraising or competing in any of these events and the year as a whole.
So shout up, get your laces done and join me!!!!
