Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am part of a team that has joined together to collectively swim 22 miles (i am swimming 1) to raise money for Ryan. Our swim will take place on Sunday the 12th of August 2012. Each swimmer has their own personnel goal but our target is for the team to collectively swim 22miles between Dover and Calais........ from the saftey of our local swimming pools. Our youngest swimmer will have just turned 7 will be swimming 1 mile, 64 lengths of our 25m pool!

Ryan has been fighting neuroblastoma, an aggressive childhood cancer, since he was 2 years old. He has beaten the disease twice but sadly the disease has again returned. Ryan’s immediate treatment will be life saving radiotherapy and chemotherapy to try and shrink the new tumour on his spine.

There are no relapse treatment protocols in the UK, Ryan’s best chance of beating neuroblastoma is to travel abroad for treatment. His mum and dad aim to take Ryan to Germany for a ‘Haploidentical Stem Cell transplant’. A recent conference held in Tubingen has shown very promising results for this treatment.

This transplant will not be funded by the NHS which is why Ryan needs your help. The treatment is likely to cost in excess of £300,000. Please give as much as you can afford to help save Ryan and other children like him. Every donation, no matter how small, helps

So please dig deep and donate now.
