We provide compassionate end of life care to patients across Bromley

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

It will be 5 years since I last ran the London Marathon so on the 25th April 2010, I will line up with the other thousands of runners to take part once again.

So what has made me decide to come out of retirement? Well, apart from being ever so slightly mad (but I guess most of you know that already) I have agreed to run for a fantastic cause - Harris HospisCare.

Harris HospisCare provides 24 hour care and support to dying patients and their families in the comfort of their own homes.

Harris HospisCare aims to improve people’s quality of life by supporting patients and their families to deal with some of the difficult aspects of serious illness. This might mean controlling troublesome symptoms or offering support with emotional, social, spiritual or financial worries.

Harris HospisCare also offers a programme of creative and complementary therapies through their day unit at Caritas House, which helps people find a renewed sense of self esteem and gain enjoyment through the company of others.

Harris HospisCare has a team of hard working, enthusiastic volunteers who give 14,000 hours of their valuable time every year.

As a local hospice they provide, free of charge, the specialist care that many of the dying patients and families in the community need and as a registered charity rely on donations and legacies to maintain the services.

Many of you have supported me in the past and I would ask you again to give generously to this very worthy cause, I'll pledge to do the hard bit but I do ask you my family, friends and colleagues to support me by making a donation.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Many thanks to you all

Simon
