My wife, Karen, was diagnosed with a rare blood cancer in 2013. She has wonderful care from the haematology clinic at Guys & St Thomas hospital but, as everyone is aware of NHS constraints and lack of funding, they desperately need to raise money for vital research into a cure.  

When I was approached to do this challenge, I assumed i was sailing around the med, not abseiling down a building, but realised that I could also have a view from the shard without spending £25.00 

As you may be aware, my daughter Charlotte , who is also taking on this challenge, is petrified of everything including, heights, needles, insects and hospitals , so abseiling 250 feet down a hospital building exposes her to a number of her fears.

It's very rare that I ever ask, and I know that everybody gives regularly to incredibly good causes, but whatever you can afford to donate will be so appreciated
