I have until March to raise as much money as possible for Medcare. So I'm shaving my head. I will also be donating my hair (which is pretty long to be honest!) so it can be made into a wig.

FACTS about Medcare...

Medcare is a North West based charity which runs the Wellspring Children's Medical Centre in rural Uganda. 50% of Uganda's population is under 14 years and 2 million are orphans.

Malaria is the biggest killer of Ugandan children because without treatment children often die within the first 24 hours of illness. 50% of children born HIV positive will die before they are 2 years old but treatment of a mother with HIV before birth can reduce the risk of transmission by 75%.

Disabled children are also vulnerable in Uganda because ignorance and superstition means their disabilities are seen as an economic and social curse on their families.

Since 2008, over 20,000 children have been treated at Wellspring with every one living in extreme poverty, often having lost one or both parents. It is the only treatment centre exclusively for children in the area and saves thousands of lives every year - even more with your support.
