Other than her friends and family, Shirley Butler had 3 loves in her life - Mike Leigh's 'Abigail's Party', any comedy by the brilliant Peter Kay and the occasional glass of wine ;0)

So, when we heard that Peter Kay was hosting his own Dance-a-thon to raise much needed funds for Cancer Research UK, we (a group her her closest family, friends and work colleagues) couldn't think of a more appropriate way to honour her beloved memory.  In fact, the only way to make it even better would be to dress in 70's fancy dress akin to the cast of Abigail's Party - so that's what we're doing!

So please help us to raise money to aid research into preventing the types of cancers that robbed us of such an amazing woman and we will ensure that we will all dance, drink and make fools of ourselves in a way that would have made her truly proud!
