Story

In memory of Sherry Ware
8th April 1962 - 26th March 2022

Sherry was a much-loved Wife to Philip, Mother to five children, Grandmother to eleven Grandsons, Dogmother to two Chihuahuas, and friend to many.

Sherry lived in the Southbourne area for over 35 years. She loved nothing more than walking the coastline, particularly Prinsted and Emsworth area, and enjoyed regular trips to the Isle of Wight - her happy place. She had always adored the sea; swimming and kayaking, long walks, and hanging out / playing on the beach with the kids.

Sherry was absolutely horrified at the pollution being poured into our ocean and was fiercely campaigning for cleaner seas for her Grandchildren's generation to safely enjoy.

She sent multitudes of emails about the issue and was featured in a local newspaper to help raise awareness of the issue. Her family joked that she was single-handedly responsible for the Southern Water fines because she sent so many emails, but she knew the fines were nowhere near enough.

Sherry would be absolutely overjoyed to know that people around her would support the cause in her name and that her efforts would continue to contribute to bringing about change.
