Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
10th August
Earlier in the year someone challenged me to enter the Great North Swim knowing that I loved swimming... Now, as I train for what will be the biggest physical challenge of my life so far, I'm wondering why on earth I thought it was a good idea!!!
I've not yet tried open water swimming and the date is looming close, but I know I will soon, and I'm very determined to succeed. So on the 13th September I'll be taking part in this mass entry event on Lake Windemere, testing out the very cool water and willing myself to swim the mile as quickly as possible... I'm not racing this, so I could be in the water for some time lol
Those who know me well know its having a very positive impact on my life, and helping me to change myself by getting fitter and stronger. I've given lots of consideration as to which charity I wanted to support, and I came back to this one over and over again. Help for Heroes, please give gererously as with your help we can help and support those who have been wounded on active service.
Directly from http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/index.html "The message is simple, H4H does not seek to criticise or be political, we simply want to help and to do so by asking everyone to do their bit to raise money. Once that money is raised, we go to the experts in the Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force for guidance as to how best to spend it. It is our intention to spend all we raise on the practical, direct support of those wounded in the service of our country since 9/11."
