Friends, Family, Shipmates, drinking buddies..... and those who I am yet to meet
I call on your assistance if you would be kind enough to consider sponsoring me to participate in the Horses for Heroes event in aid of Help for Heroes. The event was an organised ride through Great Windsor Park and Ascot Racecourse on 10 Jul 10. I proudly rode in number one uniform and the highlight was finishing the ride in front of the gathered race goers at full gallop down the race course. Please see pictures I have uploaded.
I sadly found myself in intensive care recently and was unsure if I would be able to do the ride and hence didn't push for sponsorship much before the event. I set my goal to raise £1,000 for Help for Heroes earlier in the year and I am still aiming to get closer to that even after the event. I am sure you are all very aware the fantastic work Help for Heroes charity does in direct support of our wounded troops.
I have been riding since I was a child and for the Royal Navy in Show Jumping and Eventing for over 15 years. I am fortunate to have 2 wonderful horses, Timba who is 17.1hh and who I bred from my first horse the beautiful Madonna and the new addition is Gromit, 16.1hh who is equally wonderful. I am blessed with two fantastic horses who give me so much fun and love in my life and I wanted to be able to give something back. Still currently serving in the Royal Navy after 20+ years and proud of it.
If you are in the Portsmouth area, I am offering riding lessons or a ride out with me, on one of my wonderful horses for a £15, of which 100% will be given to this fantastic charity.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Many thanks
