Story
Dear Family and Friends,
I have the privilege of participating with 9 other 'die hard' women on a self-funded trip to the Russell Glacier in Greenland. We will be cycling 200km across the Arctic Circle trail on fat bikes from the 4th to the 14th of March where the temperatures can go as low as -30 degrees.
Our aim is to raise awareness for under-privileged women impacted by extreme weather in Asia. My personal goal is $5000.
For those of you know me, I am a lover of the outdoors and I jump at any opportunity to be active, see the world and contribute to making a difference to our beautiful planet and to women in need.
UN Women is the only global organization dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls. Founded in 2010, they work at every level, to change the way the world works for women.
This is a self-funded trip and 100% of donations will go to UN Women. Our funds will support women in Nepal, Bangladesh, and Vietnam.

$25 could provide leadership and self-esteem workshops to women and girls to give them the skills and confidence to respond to these climate risk challenges.
$100 could help to set up livelihood projects that empower women business leaders in agriculture to manage their business in at-risk areas.
$500 could help us to work with the government to develop Post-Disaster Needs Assessments to inform disaster recovery strategies and national disaster management planning
$1000 could allow us to keep a safe house open for women and children fleeing natural disasters for one week.
