Seraya's wobbleberry challenge page

wobbleberry challenge · 30 September 2016
To those who don't know me very well (and people with balls of steel), I'm sure that idea of competing round a British Eventing 80cm course seems less of an achievement and more of a warm up but to me it means putting on some very large brave pants and facing some very real fears!!! BE80 involves memorising and executing a dressage test, followed by jumping a course of 80cm show jumps and finishing round an 80cm course of cross country jumps - all in one day!
Eventing is hard enough, but when you're fighting bone cancer it's even harder. Last year, Hannah Francis fought through despite this and continued to ride and compete for a long as she could. She inspired so many people to be brave that the "Wobbleberries" were born. Riders and horses who aren't the bravest, boldest or most experienced but are stepping up to the challenge of eventing and competing in their first affiliated BE80 before the end of 2017.
After a serious jumping accident in 2008, I suffered a big knock in my confidence. I still suffer with horrible nerves when jumping so the idea of jumping 40cms is terrifying, let alone 80cm! It will be a big challenge for me and my horse Issy (who is an inexperienced youngster!) but I believe and trust in this little horse so much I think we can do it!
Please sponsor Issy and I for wearing our brave pants, for everyone affected by cancer, for Hannah's bravery and for all the wobbleberries stepping up!
Stand together and fight cancer!
