Story
I’m cycling from Carbonne, (Midi-Pyrénées Region) France to Monmouth Wales on June 13th 2015 hoping to arrive in Monmouth on June 18th. I’ll be part of a great team of 4 friends, who will cycle 170 miles per day including finishing with a 130 mile cycle from Portsmouth to Monmouth.
I’m raising money to help raise awareness for The Sepsis UK Charity. The reason I’ve chosen this charity is because on January 24th 2014 my Dad became very ill after a prostate biopsy. He developed sepsis and as a result suffered a cardiac arrest.
Thankfully he survived and continues to improve with the help of the medical professionals family and friends.
Sepsis accounts for 37,000 deaths annually in the UK. That's more than bowel cancer and prostate cancer put together. This means that a person dies from Sepsis every 14 minutes.
I’m very grateful for every donation as all funds raised by the challenge will support the work of UK Sepsis Trust and will make a huge difference to the charity to enable them to raise awareness through educating the public and health professionals on early recognition and treatment.
