In 2013, my brother in law and wife suffered the tragic circumstance of their daughter being still-born at almost full term. Her name was Maggie Burns.
There were various avenues of support offered to them, but one they benefitted most from was The Laura Centre, who continue to be a source of great support for Maggie’s parents to this day.
The Laura Centre was opened by the bereavement charity COPE in 1991 and offers specialist bereavement counselling to parents whose child has died and to children or young people who have been bereaved of a parent or significant person.
I am trying all I can to raise some much needed funds for this excellent charity. One way I am doing this is taking part, along with 2 friends, in a 5 day, roughly 2000 mile, charity rally around Europe in a car bought for pennies. So that’s at least 400 miles a day for 5 days straight in an ‘eBay special’.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
