Story
On the 11th of November my little cousin Rafi had a sudden brain hemorrhage and was rushed to Sheffield Children's hospital where he had to have emergency surgery to save his life. There was a high chance that Rafi wouldn't survive the brain surgery that he needed but fortunately he pulled through. He spent a month in intensive care and then was eventually moved onto a neurosciences ward. After spending a couple of weeks there, Rafi unfortunately had another hemorrhage and was rushed into theatre again. We were told that if he bled again there was also a high chance he wouldn't make it. Thankfully, he did. The past few months have been a living nightmare, especially for his parents Jackie and Colin and his three sisters Kiera, Jodie and Nina who spent Christmas in hospital.
I am running this 10k to show how grateful I am to the staff at Sheffield Children's Hospital for saving Rafi's life and treating him with the care and respect that he deserves. It’s going to be a very long recovery for Rafi but hopefully he will return to his usual, silly self one day.
Please, please donate generously! You will be helping us raise money for new equipment, treatments, therapies, improvements to the hospital, medical research and loads more! Thank you :)
