Story

Dear Visitor –

thank you for taking the time to visit my page.

After my injury-thwarted start in the London Marathon 2013

(despite your matchless support nonetheless)

as promised I am now attacking

the London Marathon on 13th April 2014

to raise more funds for the Brain Research Trust.

The Brain Research Trust is the umbrella charity for research into conditions of the brain and nervous system. Established in 1971 they promote and support research into the causes, treatment, prevention and cure of neurological diseases.

They fund basic and clinical research at University College London’s world-renowned Institute of Neurology (IoN). Since Brain Research Trust was founded, they’ve given over £40 million to the IoN to help finance their research programmes and PhD studentships.

As a neurologist myself

- currently fully funded by the Brain Research Trust -

I am reminded on a daily basis of the necessity of more and better funding in therapy-targeted neuroscience. Finding myself in the privileged situation of still so far being unaffected by any neurological condition and therefore ready to run, of course I would fill in the gap:

My aim now is to raise a minimum of another 2000 pounds (so 4000 in total) for the Brain Research Trust by getting fit enough to run the marathon in the short time I have.

If you can, please, keep the Brain Research Trust (and me!) RUNNING – or at least crawling on from mile 22 of the marathon – and donate.

Thank you.

Yours Sarah

PS: If you encounter any problems with the online-payment and want to pay via different means, just let me know.
