Story
I am currently heading St James’s campaign to raise 30k, for the North London Hospice, by the end of 2014. Working so closely with the NLH over the last few months has allowed me to see, first hand, the selflessness and dedication of their staff and volunteers. It has made me realise how complacent I am in my own life, and that actually, I should be doing more for other people who aren’t as fortunate as myself.
With this in mind I have decided to spend 4 days next October trekking across the Sahara, in order to raise money for this fantastic cause. I will walk 8 hours per day over some of the toughest terrain in the world, live and sleep in very basic conditions (with no running water or toilet facilities) and use local Berbers as tour guides (apparently Google maps doesn’t work in the middle of the Sahara). To make this challenge even more difficult the temperature will sore to 40 degrees in the day and drop to -1 degrees at night.
I hope you feel able to sponsor me. Any amount, no matter how big or small, will be appreciated enormously and goes straight to the North London hospice.
