Hey everyone!

I'm completing the Avenue of the Volcanoes Challenge in Ecuador between 12/10/12 - 22/10/12 for the National Hearing Voices Network. This challenge begins with climbing the Pasochoa and El Corazon volcanoes, followed by Iliniza and culminates with one of the world's highest active volcanoes, the magical Mt. Cotopaxi (5,897m).

I initially agreed to complete this challenge(http://www.charitychallenge.com/expedition.html?id=1493) to support a good friend of mine, who is fundraising for Help for Heroes as it is a charity close to his heart.

In turn, I've decided to raise money for the Hearing Voices Network as supporting people with mental health issues is close to my own heart. As a mental health social worker I work in this field every day and have seen first hand the amazing work the HVN do. They are a small service but they provide a huge support to people who hear voices. All money raised by my challenge will go directly to helping this service continue to run support sessions and provide an essential Helpline for people in distress.

People who know me will know how hard this challenge will be for me as I'm not exactly the marathon racer that the other trekkers are! But I'm working hard to try and get fitter so that I can complete it with a smile on my face instead of an 'I'm dying' grimace!:0)
