Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I will have been a volunteer YAC Leader for 10 years in September 2014 and time has flown!  Every month (apart from August) I give one Saturday of my time, along with planning and paperwork time throughout the month, to run our branch.  We have over 60 members. We create sessions on all sorts of archaeological and historical topics, from Stonehenge to World War I, digging to testing historical recipes.

YAC is the only archaeology club in the UK for 8-16 year olds. It has changed and developed in the time I have been volunteering too, now we even support 17 and 18 year olds as Helpers in our branches. It's an amazing privilege to be able to watch young people grow up and to help them develop their love of archaeology.  In these difficult times financially, cultural bodies like YAC need your support to keep doing what they do, giving young people safe, stimulating and most importantly FUN ways of learning about the things they love!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
