Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

From Aug 2010 to July 2012, I had the very great honour of accompanying my husband in his role as Commanding Officer of the First Battalion, The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment. During this period I became heavily involved with the Welfare Team and the Battalions' 260 families both in Germany and the UK. It was a very intense couple of years, with the Battalion away for much of the time on pre-deployment training and then a protracted deployment spanning over 11 months.

Our two years with 1PWRR  were two of the happiest of my life, but they were also two of the toughest; the loss of Private Tom Lake  and several life changing injuries to other Tigers brought the realities of military life into sharp focus. But in coping with it all, the importance of camaraderie and the support of the Regimental family were indelibly imprinted on my mind.

So it is for that reason I am taking part, and with an overwhelming sense of FIERCE PRIDE! I am raising money for the Regimental charity, which looks to support our brave veterans throughout their service and beyond.
