Story
Hey - I'm Sam and I'm currently studying Psychology at University. This July, instead of sitting at home all summer with nothing to do, I have chosen to do something worthwhile! I have been lucky enough to have been given to opportunity to volunteer with VESL (Volunteers for Educational Support and Learning), teaching English language to children in Thailand! I will be helping children who are from rural schools with few resources and limited English skills.
English is an incredibly important skill in Thailand. By learning this skill, children and staff will be provided access to better education and career opportunities, that would not otherwise be available. The government has put great importance on the ability to speak English in Thailand, meaning the support that they receive from VESL is invaluable and will be a huge benefit for their future.
I will be living with a host family, in the surrounding community, experiencing the Thai culture in the best possible way! I have been asked to fundraise the money to make this happen, so I have held a bake sale so far and shall be running the Manchester BUPA run in May. I am NOT a runner, so 10k is quite a distance ;)
Anything you can donate would be amazing, and I would be eternally grateful! Even the smallest donation will make big things happen! :) Also by giftaiding your donation, VESL will receive more money with no extra charge from you!
Justgiving is a great, simple and secure way of donating with all of the money going directly to the charity. It is fast and efficient, making it easy for you and the charity!
Thank you so much for your support!
