Sunday lie in this week 6.30 am (yes im serious that's a lie in) to enjoy cycling 100 miles of hills, rain hills and lots more rain. 2 weeks until the toughest challenge the full McCoy (please rain stop).
Thanks so much for all those of you who have supported me already.
On July the 22nd I’ll be taking up the challenge of completing a full ironman. I’ll getting up sometime around 4am to jump into a lake and swim 2.4miles, then straight onto my bike to ride 112 miles and to finish it off, run a marathon. Mental, yes I probably am, but its all for a great cause. I work with our injured soldiers everyday, and they truly are inspirational, watching guys with no limbs and other traumatic injuries achieve amazing feats. I promised a patient that before I finished treating him I would learn to swim and complete a triathlon. This seemed a sensible place to start. Some of these guys will also be involved in the ironman completing parts of the race and some even all of it. Team True Spirit will be supporting all the military service charities. Although they are all worthy charities I have chosen to support Blesma. Blesma provides the opportunity for injured soldiers to experience new and adapted sports to enable them to return to a full active life. Sport has given so many injured soilders a new focus, helping both their mental and physical recovery. Sport is such a big part of my life, and I couldn’t imagine a life without it. Please support me and Blesma, helping our injured soldiers back to an active lifestyle.
Thanks for all your support, every penny reminds me why i’m up at 6am everyday to get training in.
