Two years ago this November my Mum passed away after treatment for cancer and for some time I had been thinking about doing something to help others who are suffering from this terrible illness and to honour her memory in some way.A few months ago one of my work colleagues and friend Barry Poole and another friend Stuart Morrison from Glasgow were both diagnosed with throat cancer at almost the same time and after talking to a lot of people I work with I discovered that most of us either new someone who had passed away through cancer or new someone who was currently going through the treatment, I particularly remembered Barry telling me how good Macmillan were when his mum had cancer, I know my own Mum was looked after in her last few months and after finding out a bit more about Macmillan, I new they were a cause woth going to bat for, so I came up with "Cycle round the Circle Line", it seemed appropriate as both myself and Barry both work for London Underground and originally I thought if I could get 6-8 people to join in we could get others to sponsor us and raise some money for a great cause, as soon as I sent out the original email the response was tremendous, virtually every one of our contractors pledged donations straight away and also showed great enthusiasm to take part in the event, along with myself and Barry's work colleagues who have also been very enthusiastic and supportive we are hopefully on our way to raising a substanstial amount for a very worthwhile cause, the support network and help they give to not only those suffering but also there families is second to none and now thanks to people like you who are making donations to this page it can be even better. Many Many thanks from all of us.

"Cycle round the Circle Line" 25th of September 2011 starts 08.30am from Temple Station (Victoria Embenkment Gardens)
