Story
Dear All
Thanks for getting this far!
In April 2012, I'm running the London Marathon. I've never done anything like this before, maybe its just a mid-life crisis!?! However, when I'm flagging during my training (usually mile 13 currently) - knowing my colleagues, friends and family support me makes a HUGE difference.
I'm running for the teenage cancer unit "Our Space Appeal", to create a a Children and Young people's cancer unit at Leicester Royal Infirmary (goal £1.4 million). I know the charity is local to Leicester, but many of you will know, healthcare facilities for the adolescent and young adult population are few and far between. Young people don't want to be cared for on a ward filled with teddybears and spaceships and at a very difficult time, are not ready to face the realities thrust upon them in the adult world. Thats why the Our Space appeal is so important. Please support me in this fund raising quest. Thank you
Oh, and if you're in the South Croxton area of Leics and see a middle aged lady running as if she's on her last legs...that's probably me. Give me a toot and a wave!
