Thank you for taking the time to visit our just giving page.
We’re planning to Trek across the Jordanian desert from Amman to Petra, on horseback, to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care, calling ourselves 'Saddle Sore Sisters'. Yes, we’re crazy enough to believe we can manage 5-6 hours a day under the baking sun, in the saddle! This is the biggest challenge we have ever set ourselves and a great opportunity to raise money for a good cause. Credit crunch or not, I'm sure we can all part with a little of our money so please give generously. If nothing else it will be worth it to see the painful expressions on our faces when we make it to Petra! We will circulate the evidence at a later date.
Donating through just giving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Marie Curie gets your money faster and, if you’re a tax payer, just giving makes sure 25% in gift aid, plus a 3% supplement are added to your donation. So, please sponsor us now!

My Dad died in October 2009 after a long and exhausting battle with cancer and we struggled to find good nursing care which would allow him to die with dignity in his own home. Marie Curie is a charity which offers the care and support to terminally ill people and their families that we so desperately needed and I’d like to help them to raise the money to continue their invaluable work.

In July 2008 a very dear friend of mine, Lee Kershaw, lost her struggle with cancer. Lee was battling this dreadful disease for the second time. By the time she had rediscovered it, the illness was too far advanced to operate. Lee sadly passed away the day after her 45th birthday and just one day before her chemo was scheduled to begin, leaving behind a doting husband and two children. I'm dedicating this challenge to Lee and also to my father-in-law, Thomas Ingham.
Since embarking on this challenge my uncle has unfortunately passed away following a lengthy fight with leukaemia. My thoughts are with this family at this sad time.
Marie Curie is a fantastic charity which is at the forefront of cancer research with nine hospices throughout the UK. They now look after around 50% of all cancer patients who choose to die at home, providing care for patients in the comfortable and familiar surroundings of their own home and invaluable support to families. Marie Curie is a charity that is close to my heart and the charity that I had chosen to fundraise for a matter of weeks before Lee tragically died. I too would like to raise money to help them continue their invaluable work.
