Story
Hello Everyone,
Wild ponies, barren soils, a harsh climate and a 1000 gruelling kilometers: Let the battle commence! I will be riding against the likes of 3 times national hunt jockey "Richard Dunwoody" and 24 other riders from around the world.
I'm not sure what is more challenging... trying to raise over £1000 for Mercy Corps or the pounding of my bum against the saddle for around 200 hours on the trot (pun definitely intended!). Please help me and Mercy Corp to improve the lives of those in Mongolia who are struggling against poverty. I will face the harsh climates of Mongolia for only 3 weeks but these people have to endure it day in day out and it is tough! -40 degrees celsius to +40 degrees celsius - the land of blue skies has a dramatic daily and seasonal change in weather.
I'm all packed now... got me compass, camelbak (water hydration system), water purification tablets, seat saver, stirrups and hat...............just need that trusty steed!
Thanks to all those that have donated so far either on or offline. Not long to go now - I'll be off on Tuesday and the race starts on Saturday 22nd August 2009. You can still donate while I'm away :)
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me and I can see myself inching closer to that £1000 target!
Using this Justgiving website means that Mercy Corps gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please dig deep and sponsor me now even if it's just a couple of quid I'll be grateful!
