Story

The StickTwiddlers team are very pleased to announce that we’re once again taking part in the SpecialEffect GameBlast 24 hour gaming marathon! Of course, we have to have a theme and this year we’re introducing the very first Olympsticks!

When, What & Where?

Starting on Saturday 28th February and hosted once again by the fantastic folk over at 1LevelUP in Glasgow, Alan, Ben and Sarah will be going head-to-head(-to head?) in the inaugural Olympsticks – a 24 hour gaming marathon that will test every skill that the ultimate gamer should possess over a variety of games.

Some of the games that will be putting our Twiddlers to the test include:

- Mount Your Friends

- Nidhogg

- #IDARB

- Hidden In Plain Sight

- And the return of the popular TMNT: Tournament Fighters!

Sadly, Jamie won’t be able to join us again this year, but he will be back to man the Twitch livestream and the StickTwiddlers Twitter to chat to you all, pass on any messages of encouragement/abuse and give away a few super sweet prizes.

Wait, Prizes? Did You Say Prizes?!

Yes, we did! We’ll be giving away a whole heap of prizes throughout the 24 hour marathon, including games, Hearthstone Packs, and other random gaming tat we’ve got kicking about. Most importantly though, we’ll be giving away the last two STEGX Veteran t-shirts we have from the print run (one guys, one girls)!

We’re also bringing back the Big Bundle raffle from last year where you can win a whole heap of awesome gaming prizes (details at the bottom of this article).

Why?

As you are probably aware by now, we’re huge supporters of SpecialEffect and the work that they do. In addition to finding out which one of us will earn the bragging rights as the Olympsticks 2015 Champion, the marathon is primarily in aid of raising funds are awareness for SpecialEffect and the wonderful work that they do.

To see just some of the work that SpecialEffect do and exactly what your money is going towards, please check out the Special Effect “Who We’ve Helped” section. To see some of the madness you’re in for, check out the playlist from last year’s Gameblast below:

How can I get involved?

If you’ve got a couple of quid to spare, please head over to our GameBlast 2015 JustGiving page and donate. For every £5 you donate, you will receive one entry into the special prize draw for some super sweet prizes!

If you’ve not got the cash to spare, it would be amazing if you could share this page and our tweets throughout the marathon on your social profiles and help raise awareness.

Got a game to suggest for the team to play on the GameBlast live stream? Want to keep in touch with us during the marathon? Drop us a line over on Twitter and Facebook.
