CRO 2012 Challenge · 12 May 2012 ·

A voluntary search and rescue team made up of local cavers, climbers and walkers. Providing a highly skilled service in the Three Peaks and Malhamdale areas of the Yorkshire Dales. The team, estabished in 1935, is entirely reliant on public donations and is on call 24x7; your support is appreciated.

Story

CRO are both Cave and Mountain Rescue for the Dales. They work very hard for no pay, and survive from donations. They keep people like me alive and kicking when we're up the proverbial creek with no paddle (or perhaps canoe, or working limbs).

I've called them out before, and I've not been too far from having them called out for me either. They don't just help nutjobs like me though, they're often called out to hillwalkers of all ages, or to assist the emergency services with other incidents which need mopping up in the hills.
