Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page which is supporting my good friends, Grant Ferguson and Sarah Cunningham's daughter Karis. They have setup a fundraising appeal called 'SDR4Karis' to help them raise the required £45K to get Karis get to USA for a life-changing operation.

The Cause
Karis Ferguson has Cerebral Palsy and needs to undergo a specialist procedure called SDR (Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy). This operation is not available in the UK on the NHS, and having it will help her to lead a more normal life and allow her to overcome some of the routine daily difficulties she has to deal, which we all take for granted.

The Challenge

The Scottish Bike Show Sportive is Scotland’s newest mass participation cycle event – ‘A Tour of the Lochs and Trossachs’ - with two challenging routes through the most stunning countryside of The Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, on Sunday 15 April 2012.

Both routes will test all round biking skills with some tough long climbs and fast descents taking in some of Scotland’s most beautiful glen, loch and mountain landscapes en route. More details of the event and the route are available here http://www.thescottishbikeshow.com/sportive.html

I'll be undertaking the 65 mile Sportive challenge, which will be made more difficult for me as I'm currently still recovering from a broken collar bone.
