Story

On Wednesday 5 March, between 11.30am and 3.30pm the event ‘Domestic Violence: Break the Silence’ will be held at North Hertfordshire College, Stevenage Campus. From 12 noon, 400 North Hertfordshire College students will join together and march a ?km route through Stevenage Town Centre to make noise and break the silence on domestic violence.

Also at the event, theatre group ADAD will be performing the play ’Behind closed doors’, and a host of information stalls from local and national organisations will be showcasing their support services around domestic abuse.

‘Domestic Violence: Break the Silence’ is being supported by Stevenage Borough Council and North Hertfordshire College, in association with ChildLine, the NSPCC and Herts Sunflower Charity. To support ChildLine please make a donation to one of the supporters of our team. Or you can join the team and raise money by creating a Just Giving page.

ChildLine is the UK's free and confidential, 24 hour helpline for children in distress or danger. Trained volunteer counsellors comfort, advise, support and protect children and young people who may feel they have nowhere else to turn. Children call ChildLine about a wide range of problems, but the most common problems are abuse (both sexual and physical), bullying, serious family tensions, worries about friends' welfare and teenage pregnancy. Children and young people can call ChildLine about anything – no problem is too big or too small. ChildLine is a service provided by the NSPCC
