Breaking a world record · 13 November 2014

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

To most of you this has probably come out of the blue. I did stop skateboarding for a while after I was hospitalised and told I shouldn't skateboard anymore. But I wanted to do something great before I truly packed it in.

I've actually been training for months just like any normal sport. While it was light I used to go to PC world car park at 6 am before the staff got there to start at 7:30. I would do nothing but this one trick over and over. I must have done it 10,000x by now. I can even do it blind folded (which I have done as part of my training).

Alzheimer's is a scary disease. All we really have in life is memories particularly as we get older. Yet for every 5 year age group the number of people with Alzheimer's doubles. I've seen first hand how it effects people and I think we need to do what we can for this currently underfunded effort. http://www.alzheimers.org.uk/statistics.
