Story
Thanks for visiting my page.
My name's Nick Wood and I'm dragging my considerable bulk around the Greater Manchester Marathon in aid of BIBS (Babies in Buscot Support).
On 29th May, our son, Elliot, was born. He had breathing problems and it became clear that he had a pneumothorax (a potentially lethal air pocket pressing on his lung). Over the course of 9 days, he developed a second one and required intensive care in an incubator.
BIBS is a registered charity that focuses solely upon special care babies and their families within Royal Berkshire Hospital. They refurbish accommodation and living areas for parents staying with their babies, and provide support for premature babies, multiple births, bereavement and many other things.
At the moment, they are raising money for new, state-of-the-art incubators: the very same incubators that kept our son breathing during his first week and a half of life! Without this equipment, we might not have our son today.
I want to give something back to this charity. Please help - any donation is greatly appreciated, no matter how small.
