Story
During the summer of 2014, some friends and colleagues of ours, Penny & Wayne Church received the devasting news that their son, Finlay, had been diagnosed with a brain tumour.
Over the next 17 months, Finlay underwent surgery, trials, chemotherapy and radiotherapy but in December 2015 his body gave up and he joined the Angels in the sky. Whilst Finlay was ill he remained so positive and determined to raise money to help find a cure. So far he has raised over £100k for brain tumour research and Birmingham children's hospital. His family are currently trying to put the pieces of their world and hearts back together but they are amazing and will keep Fin's legacy going by continuing to raise money for these under funded charities.
We were not privileged enough to meet Finlay in person but his courage and kind heart have made us want to get off of our bums and do something to help stop this disease breaking other people's hearts.
We can't do this on our own, we need the support of our friends and family, so here's the deal. We will put our sneakers on and hit the pavement in these cold winter months. In March we will run a half marathon and in April Liz will get down and dirty on a 5km mud run. The rest can be done from the comfort of your sofa. So instead of going out and having a beer tonight we're asking you to donate a few £'s to help Finlay's journey continue and to fund the research needed to stop brain tumours cutting life too short.
Thank you for your support and feel free to don your sneakers and come out for a run with us anytime.
Xx Liz and Sarah
