My sister recently lost her baby girl, She was 37 weeks pregnant when she lost baby Poppy. This was a total shock to all our family and I am so proud of my sister and her partner for being so strong. The whole experience has been horrific and extremely heart breaking. Sands are the fantastic charity currently supporting my sister through this difficult time. I am doing this run to raise money for them so they can help parents like my sister in the future. 50% of my fundraising will actually be donated to Gloucestershire Sands directly. The other 50% will go to sands in general for them to help families like our wherever it is needed.

In the UK alone an average of 17 babies a day are either stillborn or die within a few days of birth? WHY? That's what the charity SANDS are trying to find out.

Research is desperately needed to understand and raise awareness on why babies die in order to develop better screening tools to identify babies at risk of stillbirth and save lives.
