Story
In winter 2015, my friend Callum Gathercole and his uni friend Jay Olenicz will be rowing 3,000 miles across the Atlantic with plans of becoming the youngest pair to ever row across this ocean!! Not only are they attempting this inspiring physical and mental challenge, but are also aiming to raise an incredible £280,000 for three awesome charities...The Princess Alice Hospice, Brain Tumour Research and BRACE (who I have chosen to support). BRACE are a small but seriously worthwhile charity who focus on funding and carrying out research into understanding the causes of Alzheimer's and dementia; something which could potentially affect any one of our loved ones, such as Jay's grandparents.
The boys sheer determination and perseverance are so inspiring! As they' re challenging themselves immensely, I too thought I should do something to challenge myself physically, whilst raising as much money as I can to support a great cause (BRACE). So on May 31st 2015, I will be travelling all the way up to Edinburgh (not quite as exotic a trip as the boys) to run Edinburgh Marathon. Not being a runner at all, this is going to be a huge challenge but I am super excited to get training and start raising as much money as I can to support such a great charity!
I urge you all to read up about the boys incredible challenge by visiting their website http://thewaterbabies.co.uk/ and facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Waterbabies-Atlantic-Row/229531260586498
