Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The UTMB was abandoned due to bad weather and I was only able to complete the first 21 kms. On the 27th August I planned to run the Ultra Marathon du Mont Blanc in memory of my brother-in-law Matt Aspell who died from a brain tumour 4 months ago. I'll be raising money to support Brainstrust, the charity that provided support and advice to Matt during his battle against this devastating disease. The Ultra Marathon du Mont Blanc is 104 miles long with 9,400m of positive height gain to be completed in a maximum of 46 hours. It's an event I've wanted to do ever since my mid-life crisis kicked in and will be a huge challenge for me. I’ll be running for nearly 2 days straight (and wobbly towards the end), at night, at altitude and over rough terrain. But I know this feat pales when you look at the battles that people with brain cancer are fighting everyday. I really hope people will see past supporting me in reaching my own personal goals, and donate to the charity that did so much for Matt through his illness.
