Story

In memory of Joan

This Spring (target month May), I will be doing a SOLO 50k run from the Ashford Pilgrims Hospice to Canterbury Pilgrims Hospice and back - following the pilgrim’s route through Wye, Brook and surrounding villages.

This will be in memory of my mother-in-law Joan, who sadly lost her short battle with cancer last summer, and to raise money for the amazing work the Pilgrims Hospices in East Kent carry out.

Ashford Pilgrims Hospice took such amazing care of Joan during her final weeks with us. Tim, her husband, her daughters Alice and Sarah (my wife) and Joan’s close family found the compassion and love of the Hospice invaluable during what was a very tough and emotional time.

So, I am dedicating this challenge to Joan, hoping I can channel the bravery and strength she showed during her illness to complete this 50k run, and to give thanks to the Pilgrims Hospice.
