Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I hope to keep you informed of my progress whilst I'm training for what people tell me is the ultimate test of human endurance. Pah! I say, bring it on!

I’m running the 2013 Virgin London Marathon on 21 April on behalf of the BHF which does amazing work every year, heart and circulatory disease claims almost 190,000 lives in the UK alone. In fact, it’s responsible for one in three deaths each year.

 

My Dad died in February 2012 from heart disease. He is my inspiration to do this foolhardy challenge.

For 50 years the BHF has played a key role in the fight against heart disease, and as long as it continues to claim lives, they’ll continue their research to find better ways of preventing, treating, and beating it.

The money you raise could help pay for BHF funded nurses, pioneering heart research, or research that specifically helps children - giving new hope to nearly 2.7 million people in the UK living with heart disease.
£25 could provide an hour of specialist care from a BHF Heart Nurse to improve the physical and emotionalhealth of heart patients and their families. £50 could help detect heart defects in an unborn baby by paying for the use of an echocardiography machine and echo-technician for an ultrasound scan.
£100 could provide twenty DVDs packed full of practical advice and guidance for parents of children who have recently been diagnosed with congenital heart disease. £175 could help save livesby funding a Heart Health Specialist Educatorto give communities free advice and support on improving their heart health, and training in emergency life support.£200 could help them  find a cure by funding a BHF Junior Research Scientist for a whole day
