Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of you will know, I lost my darling wife, Sue, in 2008, after a five year battle with Breast Cancer. Sue was the most extraordinary lady...beautiful, loving, and generous. She was also the strongest, and bravest person I will ever know, successfully defeating that filthy disease for five years before winning her final battle and departing on her own terms. She was, is, and will remain an inspiration to so many of us.

This year I will be running the London Marathon to raise funds for a charity which is very important to Sue and I. The Penny Brohn Cancer Care Centre in Bristol was a huge support when we first returned to the UK, and introduced Sue to some amazing people, who helped her during some very dark times. The centre provides an oasis of calm for both patients and carers, and offers a range of counselling, advice and therapies to complement medical treatment. It is no exaggeration to say it turned Sue's life around.

The Centre is not one of the major charities, and funds raised at events such as these are crucial to support the fantastic work they continue to provide people who live with this filthy disease. Any support you can provide will make a massive difference to so many people.

I know that Sue will be helping me over 'the Wall' on April 17th, and I have all the motivation I need to get around the course. That said, anything you can find to help this worthy cause will be an extra incentive, and will certainly help in those last few miles.

Thanks in advance for your support, in memory of the most amazing lady.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
